Hole Pattern Tool
The hole tool allows you to draw a pattern of holes in the front, top and side views. This is a common drafting requirement in detailing for steel construction.

Make your choices in the tool's dialog.

To place the pattern of holes, simply click in the drawing.

You may also place the holes in side view, between two lines. This is typical for showing holes in a flange of a steel beam or angle.

To do this, put the tool in 'side view'. Click on a line in the drawing, drag to a parallel line and them move the mouse to locate the holes. You may press the Option key to toggle the direction of the holes left or right, or you may press the Shift key to get the top view of the holes.
