I am wondering if anyone has thoughts about the optimal location for the ADS-B antenna. One possibility is the UAVIONIX tail beacon, but it seems absurdly expensive. This application is for a new-build aircraft, and avoiding adding unnecessary drag is important.
Thanks.

ADS-B Antenna Location
To meet the ADS-B requirement, I replaced my Garmin 327 with a Garmin 345, and I just used the same transponder antenna. It’s just the simple internal antenna that I built into the wing that Sequoia provided, I think Jim Weir (RST) designed it. So far it has worked fine. The other part of the requirement is a WASS GPS which I already had (Garmin 430) and also altitude encoder info, both wired to the Garmin 345. The unit is both 978 and 1090 and it gives me traffic and FIS-B weather on the Garmin 430 screen.

I did the same and have the same setup as Tom. No issues....

Where are you all mounting the WAAS GPS antenna?
